It is so easy to setup Thunderbird on a desktop. Under Windows operating systems, it only requires at least 52 MB data space, 64 MB RAM and Pentium 500 MHz or greater, similar for Linux systems. But for Mac, it requires 200 MB drive space and 128 MB RAM and can be setup on Intel x86 or PowerPC. Get Thunderbird Thunderbird can be downloaded from Mozilla Download Page. Copy the file into your local directory and you are ready to setup it on your desktop. Extract the file and you will see a setup windows as shown below. Then, just follow the instructions. ![]() Run Thunderbird and create an account. Click on Tools and select Account setting. ![]() ![]() In the next window, enter your Gmail username (don't forget to include @gmail.com) in both incoming and outgoing user names, and click Finish. One last thing that you need to do is to enable your POP and IMAP access setting under your Gmail account. You can do this by login into your Gmail account, click on Setting > Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab pane, and enable POP and IMAP access. |
